Beta 4a or 4b?

I have 4.0a beta 1 but have seen some that are referring to 4.0b. Is there an update? Also, as I did not participate in the L4 beta, how will this effect the syncing on my desktop and regular updates that are made available in the base program?
Thanks.

4.0b means 4.0 beta.
thus 4.0b1 means the first beta release after 4.0

thanks for the clarification. Also, I see reference where everyone is logging into a "beta account". Did I mess up installing this on my own Logos account? If so, what do you advise?

JOhn,
Mine's now on my regular account and has over-written my regular program - I've "upgraded."
I expect a few small bugs - maybe a couple of devastating ones as well........
Seriously, I wouldn't worry too much.
This is 4.0a Beta1 - I'd abbreviate 4.0aB1 (4.0B1 was 10 weeks ago)

Look for the first post in the beta announcement, He suggests creating another account on your system to install L4b on but it's not working out so well on my system.

Thanks for the advise and encouragement. This is the first beta I have not participated in going back to Logos 2. The pain inflicted is a bit greater with the downloads and reindexing. I appreciate the pain you have endured to get us this far. I assume that when the beta becomes live we can update and get off this train at anytime without reinstalling? That was how it worked in the past..

I may pick this up after Sunday. Saturday is no time for me to be playing with a new toy - er - tool. I'm too easily distractible as it is.

Here is what I tried to install the Beta on a new "user" on Win 7.
- Initial download (50+ MBs) and installed successfully.... BUT, I didn't want to download resources (8.00 Gigs) and reindex. Soooooo.
- I went through Dave's suggestion to copy original "/logos4" folder and place copy into the "Logos Beta" user. Then disabled ethernet/wireless internet/networking
- Reinstalled downloaded v. 4 .exe. Started up Logos but it crashed. Tried again, crashed.
- Deleted copied /logos4 and started from scratch the old fashion way. All is working flawlessly. No crashes in the Beta.... yet.

In the far URH corner of L4 there is a small question mark in a circle. Click on that and select "About Logos Bible Software". The version number will be on the top line of the screen that opens.
The latest non-beta version is SR-7.

Click on the question mark on the top right. The bottom entry, "About..." will let you know the version
