Is there a way to get my L4 library into L3?
I know I know...why would I want to do this? I'm a tech geek guys, what can I say?
The easy way is if you purchased it and the order is in your order history. If so, you scroll down to previous versions (not clearly highlighted; mouse over the text) and then run the Libronix script which moves the resources and licenses down to your Libronix (I assume you already have one running). Repeat for all orders. That's what I do.
But what you're proposing is smart. Libronix has your licenses along with your resources which is considerably more transparent than the 'cloud'. Just today I noticed Logos4 used to do something that now it won't (at least that I could figure). But Libronix still does.
Ok you lost me, where is this located? I purchased Scholars for L4, is what you are saying still possible?
If you go to your account on Logos.com, then go to 'Orders'. At the top it will have your pre-pubs, then CPs, then historical orders. Go down to the historical orders and find a simple one (maybe a single resource, just to illustrate). Then click on the ORDER NUMBER (not the title etc).
This will bring up your receipt. Scroll down to the Logos4 section. Then go down to the section below that. 'Download instructions for Previous Versions'. Click on the text ('Download Insturctions ...') It'll show you an 'unlock' button. Click on that. That executes a Libronix script to begin seeing what you have and what you need. It then lists out what it proposes to download. Accept as desired and it will begin downloading. W7 will typically require you to ok the script to run on your PC.
Hope this is helpful; if need more info, will try to add more!
Maybe I just don't know what I am doing but I clicked on the order number and didn't see directions for previous versions...
NEVERMIND!!! I found it! Thank you so much!!!!
Ok got the resources downloaded but it is making me unlock each book one by one? Any way around this?
I don't really know if there's a way around it. How it used to work is there was a single unlock code for an entire collection. Can you find anything like that in your order history?
EDIT: Just had another thought. Did you already sync your licenses from within L3?
That is the Key [:D]
Sync and then restart!
Such and restart works to get L3 into L4 but not visa versa. If you don't synch licenses L3 can have a resource you own in teh Resources folder but not show it in Library as an Unlock book.
Here is a link to scripts to load all the resources from a Logos package into L3: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/6366/49771.aspx#49771 Look at the first post by Francis.
Just chit-chatting, but running a script from the Logos order page 'should' have enabled the license(s) without a sync. I don't sync my Libronix for Logos.com purchased books and they're enabled for reading in both Libronix and downloaded to Logos4. I DO have to sync the ones from CDs but not to read on Libronix; rather to have downloaded to Logos4. I assume, judging from the scripts' behavior, that 'syncing' was simply reconciling two license stores.
The only reason I'm putting this out here, is for the case where I'm wrong ... I'd like to be aware of it given the possible non-continuance of Logos (ie where sync'ing wouldn't happen).

That is correct. The fact they are on the orders page means Logos knows you have a license for them. Syncing licenses is needed for non-Logos purchased resources, which had to come via CD. Those don't get posted on the Order page so the only way to get to those files (if you don't have the CD) is via the ftp site. I personally have kept all my resource CDs, but since I almost never use L3 anymore, really don't need them. L4 takes care of needing the CDs.
For whatever reason when I hit "unlock" on the orders page, it downloads the resources but does not unlock them...
Sorry you are having this trouble. Did you sync your L3 licenses over the internet?

Yes, but it didn't change anything.
Absent a call to Logos (who I assume don't support Libronix), the next thing I'd try is to go to Tools > Options > Resource Paths > Click on 'Refresh Resources' (button). Then re-start Libronix. It'll take some time for Libronix to sift through the library (little message at the bottom right).
In theory, this shouldn't work since it essentially just forces Libronix to re-read the library on the listed path. But apparently it also forces re-reading the licenses. I had the same problem installing some of my resources even though I quite obviously had licenses that worked on my other PCs.
EDIT: When you re-start Libronix, go to your task manager and make sure the Libronix libary system is dead (it's a separate process from Libronix itself and sits in the background managing the library etc).
