Notes don't look the same on the iPad as they do on the desktop

Notes on my iPad don't have the font colors and highlighting that I gave them on the desktop. It seems that bold and italic are retained but all other formatting is not.

The "full" note selection on the ipad also doesn't work the same as on the desktop. There appears to be a maximum display size for each note after which I need to scroll the individual note's pane and then to get to the next note I need to scroll the note's window pane. On the desktop  each note  expands to reveal all of the text and then serially display them with a single scroll, this is much easier to navigate.
