It does it in reading mode without rhyme or reason.

I'll be reading and go to swipe or tap to the next page and it locks up. It will time out and Android will popup and ask to force a program close, but if canceled Logos will start working again in about 10 seconds.

I don't have this problem (with L4A build 55) on a Nexus 7 (Jellybean OS).

When I ran Logos on a rooted Nook Color, I had problems with program lockups from time to time--not just Logos; I think it had to do with reading from the SDHC card while running an application.  It was very sensitive to the specs of the SDHC card that I used to root/run it.

Since buying the Nexus 7, I've returned my Nook Color to factory default and let my wife use it.  We are both happier... ;-)

It is different than the normal SD card lag, which I've become accustomed to. It is as though Logos gets caught in some sort of loop, or pause, and like I said earlier even the OS wants to close the program due to unresponsiveness.

The latest beta seems to have minimized the problem, but I can still get it to act up with lots of consecutive page turning.

The actual error that pops up is: "Activity Read (in application Bible) is not responding".

I've been considering a Nexus 7, it looks very appealing. My only concern, other than actually finding the money for one, is that idea of being tied directly to our supreme overseer Google at all times. But maybe it's something I have to get use to...

Also consider other offterings like the ASUS Transformer Prime which have much greater resolution.  While the mobile app is nowhere near the power of the desktop app today, over time it may become more similar (or L5?? will) and that greater resolution could prove invaluable for multi-tab/window/whatnots to be open at the same time and holding enough content to be useful.

It's so up in the air right now, the day to day advances of tablets reminds me of PC's in the 90's. Where by the time you got one home and plugged it in, the next model was being placed on the shelves.

So I'll have to see what there is when I get to the point where I can buy something again. Google isn't going to rest on their laurels, and neither is Amazon.

Also, with Microsoft pumping money into the Nook for the last six months, and a tablet friendly Windows coming out in October, there may be an iPad killer just around the corner:

Concur; this market is changing fast.  I saw that B&N will push out some beefy tablets in about a month; add the MS entries into the fray and the market will re-write itself yet again.

Yea, my guess would be that the upcoming Windows 8 tablet will be a re-branded Nook HD+ with Windows
