sigh.... more problems with Logos (indexing)

Every time I start my computer, logos is indexing. It never makes progress, but eventually the logos indexing icon goes away.
I know there's probably all kinds of troubleshooting I should be doing, but I'm growing weary of constant Logos troubleshooting. It seems like every couple of months I'm having a logos problem. What should I do to fix this?

Explain more. Do you just mean that the Logos icon appears for 30 seconds and then disappears?

The logos icon sits in my menu bar for about 10 minutes saying indexing. Then it will disappear. When I start logos--it crashes sometimes--it will say indexing and have a 0%, but it never progresses.

What version of the app are you running? When was the last time you did a full index?

The version is 4.6 SR 1. I can't remember the last time I did a full index. I'm not sure. The indexing icon is gone now and the app is open. It does this often, but it will go through it all again next time.

In your first post, you said this happens when you restart your computer. Did you mean to say when you restart Logos?

Are you familiar with posting logs? Do you know how to enable logging?

When I boot up my computer, it just says indexing for 10 minutes. When I start logos it says indexing for a while but has the 0% there as well.

I have forgotten, but I have done it before. I guess I'll need to go read a wiki somewhere.

Perhaps this will help
download this Applescript file from KS4J Logos 4 Mac
AppleScript Application It will enable/disable logging for youThen download Logos Log Scribe This little app will
gather your logs, create an archive, and place it on your desktop.Copied from MS Word which explains the garbage

That's helpful Jack. Thanks. i was just thinking that Logos should create an app that makes easy work of getting the logs since it's usually needed for troubleshooting.

This may not be your situation at all. But if your hard drive does not have enough room left to create a duplicate index, it will fail. I am using a small 120G SSD and have this problem from time to time. Again, this may not pertain to your situation. But I thought I would throw it out there.iamk said:Every time I start my computer, logos is indexing. It never makes progress, but eventually the logos indexing icon goes away.
