I do not know much about the "under the hood" stuff in windows. I do have Win7 SP1 installed already. Should I download and install net 4.5 now? If I do will it impact using my existing L4 installation or other programs I use?

.NET 4.5 will replace .NET 4.0 (if applicable) and it should not adversely affect apps that use .NET 4.0 (it might fix bugs in the app). .NET 4.5 does not impact Logos4, which uses .NET 3.5 --> I'm happily running Logos 4 with .NET 4.5 installed.
So go ahead and install .NET 4.5 from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653
EDIT: It's a little weird that .NET 4.5/.NET 4.0 appear to be independent of .NET 3.5 (and below) but that's the way MS has packaged them since Windows Vista. .NET 4.5 is integral to Windows 8 and you have to enable .NET 3.5 as a Feature.
Thanks Dave

You can if you want. If you don't, the Logos 5 beta installer will install it for you.
I think it requires a reboot, so you may wish to install it whenever that would be convenient for you.
