can you build book collections around tags?

Most certainly. In the "start with..." box on the collections pane enter tag:xxxx where xxxx is the tag word.

    you need to use mytag:xxxx.

    you need to use mytag:xxxx.

I didn't check that last one out before I posted it.

Funny thing is there is a heading in the Library called 'tag' (which for me only has 'my tags' information in it). I assumed it could be searched on. Not so. Thanks for pointing that out.

This was hard to figure out.  They should make the search criteria match the library category headings.  For example in the Library there is a heading "My Tags".  But you have to enter "mytag:xxxx".   Why not "mytags:xxxx" ?  This would make the results more predictable.

Also why don't the "type" results match my library.  In my library if I organize according to the "Type" category there is one resource listed under "psalms".  If I were to try to make a collection (hypothetically) with "type:psalms" it would make sense that it would produce the same resource as listed in my library.  Instead it produces nothing.

This feature still seems very mysterious and hard to predict.

There shouldn't be! There are only a handful of types, such as "bible", "dictionary", and so-on. What's the resource you have listed as Psalms?

The help does give you the list of fields. It's under the heading Library Filter Fields.

Presumably because in the library you can add several tags (plural) to each book, while in a search you would normally only search for one tag (singular). Obviously, we're all different, but to me it would feel very unintuitive to search for "mytags" when I'm only looking for one.
