Reading mode appears to not be resizable. I don't mind it opening to the full screen but I would rarely want to read it in full screen on the desktop.
I am confused MJ... What is reading mode other than being full screen? I guess it must be a windows thing. [:)]
What is reading mode other than being full screen?
My terminology may be wrong. I think of reading mode as a pane without all the visible application control stuff - the text as I'd see it in a book. Trust me - only art or coffee table books match my largest monitor - a book that is too wide becomes unreadable.
If the footnotes appeared in the standard mode as the do in L4, I could continue to ignore reading mode on certain devices.
If you set the text to display in columns (1 or more) instead of the continuous flow you can toggle whether or not to have footnotes displayed. If you don't want full screen wouldn't a floating window work?
Ah - the setting of columns to 1 is what I misremembered/failed to remember. Yes, floating windows work for me.
MJ - I can understand where you are coming from... The first screen shot below is reading view set to "one column." The second screen shot is set to "five columns." Personally, I would like something more like what Pages (a Mac app) does in full screen mode. I copied the text and pasted it for you to see. It would be nice to have something like that... with perhaps the ability to control the width of the page as well.
