Power look up!!!

While reading the UBS4, when I decide to use the power look up it is crazy!

It shows all the dictionaries {at first}, yet when you decide to look at one than and try to

go back to look at another, it shows one dictionary up and down the right side

{the same up & down the right side} of the program. In other words one cannot scroll through

the many dictionaries in the program. What's up with that???

How do you scroll through the dictionaries while reading a book???

Will it do that without opening and closing each dictionary one-by-one???

I like reading the USB and NA27, looking up words as I need them. On L3

it was easy to go from dictionary to dictionary!!!

I assume you're referring to the Greek lexica. I have no trouble moving from one to another simply by using the arrow keys as was the case in L3. Have you tried that?

I'll try to explain what I'm speaking of step by step.

I open USB4 reading Matt 19. As I'm reading I need to look up a word. So I will hit the left click on the mouse and the floating window open up {I guess that is what you call it} and the Reference, morph and the lemma comes up. When you go to the lemma the dictionariers open in a side bar. when I pick one of the dictionary to read it and try to go back to read another it only shows one dictionary up and down the side bar {the same one I opened}. For an example if I open Strong Dictionary, than close it and try to go back to the side bar only the Strongs is showing like ten times up and down the right side bar. In L3 a new window opens and you can go from one dictionary to another. Here you have to completely close the one dictionary you are reading and run another "power look up" and read another. Although when you first run power look up all the dictionary opens, if you pick one it opens a new tab, if you close that tab and go back to the right side bar here the dictionary are there is only one dictionary being shown up and down the bar {like ten times}.
I'm just reading a book.
Are you have to open a new tab for every dic. you read!!! If you do that you have like hundred tab open, are you will be opening and closeing tab more than you are reading.

Prioritize your best Greek lexicon. That should be BDAG, but in a pinch L & N will have to do. LSJ is good, but not geared to NT studies. Skip the intermediate step of the information window and simply double click on the word. Your prioritized lexicon should open. If you then so desire you can scroll through the other lexica by using the arrow keys.

Ok,

If you want to work your way through the list, I recommend setting Follow to None... For some insane reason which has never been explained, right-click activated power lookups are set to "Follow". This means that as soon as you click on one link in the Power Lookup, it instantly changes.

Thanks to everyone for your help in this issue. Most of the time when I'm working on a paper for class, teaching or a sermon, I just cut and paste to word and save a hard copy in a serpate place {a note book of lessons & sermons} so not being able to go from dictionary to dictionary hinders the process. Over all I like the new look of L4, with that said there sre still some things I wish they had carry over from L3. One of things I really don't like is how you have to open and close window {tabs} all of the time. Rather you are doing a simple study or something hard you have to add a tab and close a tabs are there will be a tab for every book you open. I do not have a favorate word study, dictionary etc. I read them all and at one point or another they each have something need. L3 made it easy to go from one book to another in a list rather you are reading the Na27 like I do for devoitional or doing a study it is hard to have to open and close tabs all day. Its like that in the passage guide, word study etc. I just want to go from dic. to dic, comm. to comm. etc. and pick what I need. I do not like picking which ones I like best, I want all of them to come up all the time. The fun thing about study is going through all the informantion, you always fing something new or something you over looked before. To be turthful with you that is may only problem with the software. Remove all the tabs please!!! I just need windows to read from. In closing, the topic finder need a little fine tuning too.

So forget the Power Lookup. I just navigated from the NRSV through half a dozen or more bibles using the arrow keys. I also opened the NIGTC on the Pastorals (since I happened to have my NA27 open to 2 Tim) and used the arrow keys to switch to several other commentaries -- it even brought up a homily by Chrysostom on the passage.

Hey! That works fine {in the Bible window} thank you again for your help. Yet in the passage guide if you click the comm. the arrow key does not work, it opens a new tab. Also it help to hit the none key in the power look up window that works too, that helps a lot because I do a lot of reading and I don't need to be opening and closing windows.

Is there any way to have "power look up" copy without all the tags, references, and footnotes that come with it? I want to copy multiple passages at once with NO tags and stuff, cannot seem to get a good answer on this been trying for some time, anyone know how?
