I have been using the Libronix program since it first came out. Never had a problem with it. I could customize my home page to open what I wanted open on start up. With logos 4 I have nothing but trouble. I really do not like this logos 4
If you would like to state some specific problems then I am sure that at least some of them can be resolved. How long have you had L4?
Welcome David, Logos 4 is certainly a very different program to L3. There are some features of L3 that I miss and wish were part of L4. L3 though was facing major issues in being able to move forward as program because it was so dependent up on IE and this limited it greatly. L4 was a complete rewrite from the ground up and has laid the foundations for future versions.
The 'home page' has had a big make over in L4 and I agree sadly lacks some of the features of what we had in L3, but it is what it is and you can customize it to an extent. The following video provides a good overview of the new home page: http://www.logos.com/video/2272/home-page-overview. And there is another video on using the Bible Study features of the home page: http://www.logos.com/video/2275/home-page-bible-study
What are some of the specific troubles you are facing. If you can provide us with some more specific examples there might be someone who can help you negotiate some of those issues.

PS: I've made the assumption you are using the Windows version in the video links I've provided. When replying with some more specific details please confirm if it is WIN or MAC version you are using so you can receive the most appropriate assistance from the right person.
You are still able to use Libronix. Logos4 doesn't replace but can run alongside Libronix. You will lse a whole lot of features however.
What specifically are you referring to as far as customizing how your program opens? I too used Libronix over its whole life cycle and much prefer Logos 4 (I do remember some frustration as I was first making the transition however).
What specific problems are you having with Logos that we might be able to help you with?
I do not use the new home page because it is basically advertisements from Logos.
Did you know that you can turn those "advertisements" off and customize it using the settings button on the home page?

Sorry, Tom, but that made me laugh. You just put a minute or two into writing that post. Unchecking a couple of options on the home page Customize list would have taken you about the same time, possibly less.[:)]
Unchecking a couple of check boxes one time? Wow.
Yep, let us say that I do not like advertisements in the programs that I use.
I wonder what "advertisements" are. I suppose they're different from advertisements. Maybe look like advertisements with google hooks, but really are not.
Personally I like the home page but EVERYTHING off. Unfortunately Logos ALWAYS wants to force the issue. And so each time I just want to use the front query only or get to the top ribbon, I have to wait for the resource sample to load (often the exact same page for a resource unless they fixed that after 3 years; haven't checked since stopped using the home page).
But OF COURSE I agree with the poster. Libronix was GOOD. Back then the designers didn't have such an attitude. Like "advertisements".

I agree about the home page feeling like an ad to me. I start logos without the home page and hardly ever go there.
Why can't programs that work good be left alone?
Because hardware and users' expectations keep changing.?
I can understand if you don't want the producer of the program you are using to offer you more materials that might or might not be beneficial. However, when a work around is available that takes less time than it took you to post the issue, it looks more like your out to pick a fight than to really get help with a legitimate complaint. I don't know what your intentions really are, just saying what it looks like from the outside.
Interesting thread. I remember in the days of the newsgroup when many complained about the speed of Libronix. People also complained about its dependence upon Internet Explorer. When download of books was implemented, others complained about bandwidth.
Back them there was this comparison with Bible works. Now the comparison seems to be with Accordance. There should be some threads on this forum with some of the complaints.
For years, users asked for a place to discuss theology etc.. Faithlife came along, and welll. It seems to be very under utilized.
I am beginning to remember a song from primary school. (A long time ago). "The shine eye gal is a trouble to a man, cause she wants and she wants and she wants everything."
Just sayin. [:)]
