Crash Mac Version 4.6a Beta 3 (4.61.0.3239) after getting new resources - Apparent problem with Hom

I'm using Logos 4 Mac Version 4.6a Beta 3 (4.61.0.3239) using the Spanish UI in a MacBookPro under Lion 10.8.2

Last night I downloaded the Nelson 501 unlock and then Logos crashed during startup.

Restating the Mac did not help.

Letting the indexing complete did not help.

A suggestion that the Homepage was the problem prompted the suggestion to startup using a blank layout.

Using the blank layout allowed Logos to start up, but if I click the Home button the application crashes.

I tried deleting the content of the Homepage folder but it did not help.

Is there anything other than reinstalling that could be done?

Hey Fernando. Sorry you are having troubles... I am as well. The "open to a blank layout" solution should keep you up and running until a better fix can be found. Do you use the homepage much?

This is a bit confusing to me since I tried to re-install following the instructions on the Troubleshooting page and the problem persists. I only kept the resources (>10Gb) and deleted everything else (as I said according to the instructions) but there must be something that remains because Logos crashes every time even after re-installing! I just do not understand. I did not have any problem until I downloaded a number of resources and that was the end of it.

Any word from any developer?

Yes, although after about 6-7 crashes it loads. I don't really use the homepage, so it isn't an issue with me.

I don't think there is an issue with your installation… in this case re-installing won't do any good.

I have not heard anything. It's relatively new, but it seems to be affecting a number of beta testers.

Sorry. The resources are normally in a hidden folder ("Library"). They were stored away during the uninstallation of Logos so that they don't have to be downloaded by the new install. During re-installation, the "Quick Installation" protocol in the wiki.logos page

instructs to stop the downloading of the resources after restarting the newly installed application, and to write a "scan" command with the location of the saved resources so that Logos will use them. That's the source of my confusion, because after following the instructions, I'm not sure I get what I should with respect to the resources.

I don't think reinstalling would have an affect on this issue.

As far as scanning in your resources, the scan command requires that the program be restarted, at which point it should sit on 'Preparing your library' for awhile. If it goes through that stage fairly quickly then something about the command did not work, possibly that the scan path was not entered correctly.

After the scan command I restarted and went through a (slow - not finished yet) process of "downloading" and "indexing", although it is set to not go to the internet for updates. It is giving a list of resources when pressing the Library button, but my question is, do I have to change the resources folder at the end, or will they be allocated to the correct folder when all is finished?

AN UPDATE:

I did a reinstallation, only saved the resources, but discarded the indexing together with everything else (all the Logos hidden folders everywhere). As you may imagine I have been indexing for 3 days (I have >10 Gb in resources). While the indexing was going on, the Homepage crashed the application. The indexing completed, I reconnected to the internet, allowed for Automatic Updates. When the program completed indexing (as I said it took 3 days) it did an automatic resource installation restart and I GOT MY HOMEPAGE BACK. It works fine again. I was told that reinstalling should have not helped, but it did.
