Here is my system information:
Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM)2 CPU T200 @2.00GHz @.00 GHz
Memory Ram: 2.00GHz
Gateway Tablet Laptop.
Upgraded from Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional.
32-Bit OPerating System
When I first upgraded to Logos 4 as many others noted it was very slow. Yet my updating and indexing did not take as long as other have mentioned. It took a total of around four hours and I let it run the indexing in the middle of hte night. The next day it wanted to do more indexing after I statred Logos 4 up and I delayed that again until late in the evening when I was through using my system. The second indexing time was about two hours.
After the second indexing Logos 4 was not as sluggish. On this past Wednesday I looked into the "Ready Boost" feature in Windows 7. Ready Boost did not work as advertised in Vista but really works in Windows 7. I purchased a 4GB flash drive (Microsoft has some guide lines on correct drive to use). My understanding is that the Ready Boost used the flash drive to cache disk reads and speeds up disk access. It is really noticable on laptops where the disk drive is a 5400 speed.
For Windows 7 users I would state that it reduced by half all application loads, boot up, shut down, and Logos 4 now matches and out-preforms Logos 3.
I just wanted to share this with Windows 7 users if they are experiencing spped issues on their laptops. Ready Boost speeds up data access and applicaion loads on all of my programs.
Thanks and God Bless Mick
