Newbie here.... hello all!
I downloaded niv2011.lbxlls from ftp into the resource folder of LDLS ver 3.0g, but can not find this bible version when the software was started-restarted-(XP)pc rebooted. Am I missing something here? Help Please.
Hello Enyk, welcome!
You do have a licence for NIV 2011 and did synchronize the licence to Libronix, so the software knows this is an unlocked resurce?
Maybe this helps,
Mick
Am I missing something here?
Welcome [:D]
Wonder what appears in "My Library" in Libronix 3.0g for All Known Resources ?
If your account does not have a resource license, a padlock appears on the blue book icon.
Keep Smiling [:)]
Look under: Tools->Unlock Resources. See if the book(s) are there as a locked book. If you find it there "LOCKED" you have the problem I am seeing below.
In my last two downloads from LOGOS to Libronix/Logos3, the books have downloaded fine, but the licenses have failed to become updated. I had this trouble with ChasStanley Collection and the new free book on prayer. All works fine in Logos4. I had to call customer service who took me through a process that entailed:
(1) Deleting the "Licenses" folder (Under XP) \Documents and Settings\ALL Users\Application Data\Libronix DLS\Library\Licenses
(2) Restart Libronix (without Licenses it acts as if you are a first time user)
(3) Go through the first time user process to enter the UserID and Confirmation Codes, etc. (Libronix then downloads a "clean" license file and everything is now there)
This development is just recent. A couple weeks back I had no trouble with some other older (Libronix available) books. As I see it (Armchair Tech), the already there (local) license file is not be properly being updated for new books by the "libronix update" software. It does "touch" the licenses file (as "properties" confirms), but evidently not add the new titles properly. A clean License file download seems to solve it. Synchronize does not works as (I believe) it sees the file via it's date/time as "touched" and not needing an update.
That is my 2 cents. Customer Service got me working, but I think it will still be on ongoing problem. This has happened on both my XP-Desktop and Vista-Laptop libronix programs.
Paul
Very interesting Paul ... thank you for the advice.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying a resource thinking 'surely' they haven't gone nutty.
But yes, indeed their system is royally broke.
I tried what you said; I didn't successfully get Libronix to forget 'me'. I did re-download a license file but the same one before the purchase.
Ironically it was to be my final Logos purchase (Baal Cycle). So tomorrow I'll probably trade in Baal Cycle for some headphones.
Which by the way ... if anyone's into Ugarit, try finding Baal Cycle for $300.
Well, solved the problem and learned some more. Renamed both the license folder and the cache folder (both in 'Library' as shown above) in order for it to forget 'me'.
Even more interesting, if you haven't a clue what your 'confirmation code' is, just play like you're a new user at Account setup (in Libronix), enter your email address and then go to download the licenses. It'll find you're already a user and allow you to get your 'confirmation code' by email. How convenient!
I haven't a clue what the confirmation code is ... I'm guessing it might be the old OL package code I bought 8 or 9 years ago, but who knows. The email-sender script was pretty old.
I notice the new license file finally recognizes refunded resources (have had to stare at them for several years now).
If you go to "Help" in a working Libronix and then "About Libronix" the UserID and Conformation code is there. WRITE IT DOWN!
Paul ... you're too smart! I do everything the hard way. I wonder what it's for (since the email address obtains the secret code). Maybe it prevents me from having too many Libronix's. Again, thank goodness for your addition to the thread.
I broke down and got one more 'last' Libronix book. And I knew the routine ... delete the licenses and cache, restart, etc. Another Logos user buying books.
Logos is so funny.
This is not working for me, at least to show downloaded PBB files. It says it was created with a PBB and cannot be unlocked. Another forum said I needed some kind of PBB reading key. What's up?
How do I get to the vs. 3.0g PBB anyway?
At one point in the past the "Key" to read PBB's was provided based on the Base package you had.
I do not know if this is still the case.
