These are some of the difficulties I ran into while trying to set up the "perfect" interface for Logos' Year of Faith on the desktop side. This is a case where things are so close to working but frustratingly "not quite".

1.There is a useful highlighting scheme that I have made into a palette - unfortunately it cannot be shared nor can an image of it be easily shared. I suspect that I could create a document that included it and upload the document but that would create yet another feature for newbies to learn.
-----
Because there are so many references and cross-references in the base text, it makes sense to use a Reading List to keep track of where you are and to add additional references that are brought up in the course of discussion. This brings its own set of problems:
2. I have to chose between Heading or check box; it would be nice for the linked headings to also have a check box.
3. Indentation now causes the check box to be lost - I swear this used to work and know it needs to work.
4. I cannot link to another Reading List within a Reading List - this makes it easier at times to reference external links rather than Logos links that already exist (issue is Early Church Fathers).
5. Links need options e.g. for the Confessions of St. Augustine, Logos users may have it in Schaff Protestant, Schaff Catholic or as an independent item. Rather than my choosing a single resource to link to, Logos should look in the users library and use what they own.
The main pane (on the left in my layout) is the book for which Faithlife provides the Reading Plan - the CCC.
6. This panel should be "frozen" with the exception of user's direct override. Everything else is being read in the context of this book.
7. The Reading List should autoscroll based on this pane as if they were linked; a quick and dirty immediate solution would be to add a find feature to the Reading List panel.
8. When one clicks on the first Community Note, it is the most recent Community note that appears at the top of the Community Note pane. The sequence is by time not location. (Note that other flags for Community Notes do bring up the relevant note.)
-----
The working pane, in my layout is the pane on the right.
9. All links from the Reading List or the left pane, should appear here. The send hyperlinks here option simply needs to be broadened.
-----
The Community Notes pane is the narrow pane on the right.
10. The label, in this case CCC 1, only appears sporadically. It does not appear if you open a Community Note that is within the numbered paragraph.
11. As the Community Notes are screened by resource in order to navigate one needs
- a selection box to choose among the various resources with notes (one can sort by resource on the Faithlife site)
- a find next Community Note option
12. The ability to create readable, useful Logos links in the Community Notes needs to be improved/repaired with a feature similar to the RL format feature.
-----
13. Finally, it should be possible to share the layout itself.
Yes there are some bugs in some of the elements which have been reported as such, there are some features which ultimately need to be added. But within the confines of L4, this is my list of what is needed to make the pieces work as an integrated whole.
