How to search for the occurrences of a word

Hello,
I'm not that new to logos, but definitely do not use it as often as I'd like because I can find it very confusing. I have a question of how to do a simple search:
I know how to look up a strong's number in my lexicon, and when I do it tells me how many "occurances" the particular hebrew/greek word has. Is there a resource I can use to then find out what all of these occurances are? It's frustrating to know how many times word appears, but not be given a list of the verses it appears in.
I recognize this might be a really easy answer, and I'm sorry to post in here for something not that complex, but I've been having a difficult time finding the answer! Any help is appreciated

Don't worry about the complexity, we all start at the same level.

Sounds like you are looking for the Original Language word and its uses (Greek or Hebrew). So if you have the Bible Study base package or higher then you can use the Bible Word Study tool.
In the Logos4 wiki you can learn how to use this tool
(Click on these links to open their wiki page articles)
How do I open the Bible Word Study Guide?
Using Original language words (i suggest using the Right-Click menu and selecting the appropriate Lemma)A. Clicking in the center of the Ring will give you a list of all the uses for your word (see list under the Ring)
B. Clicking on a segment of the Ring will list uses associated with that segments translation.

Assuming David's primary familiarity is the Strong's number, I tried to figure out which resources he's likely using (and thus a regular search for a strongs number, etc). I used the new Logos.com 'compare' and got completely lost. I'll admit it's probably better than the previous 'spreadsheet' but at least you could search the page; the new one uses rollups so you have to click on each level (as with Logos4 search results!).
Well anyway I wonder what Strongs resources (Bibles) are in the basic packages. There used to be some available (I'm not talking about the RI's which demand a specific level).

Hi DMB,
we don't know what base package he has. So hopefully if he doesn't have Bible Study Library or higher, he will let us know. But he does say that he is using a lexicon, so he may well have a higher package which means that BWS tool will work.
Good point 'he is using Strong's numbers'. i just tested Right-Click from a lexicon and it works (see below)
EDIT:
But he can copy and paste the Lemma word from the lexicon into BWS and that works.

i'm not following you here. What is Compare? (Text Comparison???)

Hey everyone - thanks so much for the help!
I have the basic Bible Study Package, so using the Bible Word Study Tool is possible. I had forgotten I could click those pieces of the pie and find the occurrences. Thanks for the help!

Well, there's a lot of truth to 'All's well that ends well!' I hope David enjoys his Bible study.
(The 'compare' is between the packages; you click on compare/buy, that takes you to another compare page and then you click on compare/buy again and that takes you to another compare page but little to compare. So you backup to 'Resources' and then scroll down about 5 page-worths to headers, underneath are the actual books ... which if not expanded can't be 'found' using the browser Find.)
I sure wish Logos would just do test runs with their own staff (who very likely are perfectly normal human beings). When I used to be an executive, the best person to detect 'confusing' was my secretaries. You could tell within 5 seconds it needed to be re-designed.

Ahhh... i understand now. (kinda slow today [:D] ). i have the comparison page bookmarked in my browser (L4 Comparison). Guides & Tools are under the last heading (Features and Databases). Once that i find which colored dot is the minimum, i go back to the top to see which package it is.
i haven't tried to navigate to the Comparison chart from the Logos home page in a long time. Sorry to hear that it is frustrating for you. i can relate to your frustration.

Isn't BWS a bit of a workaround? I've never used Strong's, but surely he can do a normal search via right-click? Or use the syntax I found in the Wiki: <GreekStrongs = #1345>?

That's true. Since he was looking for specific passages, i thought that the easiest way was to use the BWS tool. (it takes less of an explanation without various possible side tracks [which resources he is using, which view alignment he is using, etc]). It seemed the fastest way to get him to what he was looking for. It also hinted at using the wiki as a possible means to find out how to learn about using L4's features. i checked Mark Barnes' videos and didn't find one specifically on BWS, or i would have pointed him to it as well.

David,
If you wanted to use the Search tool to lookup your word like fgh pointed out (in the above post) you could do it as shown below.
(i intentionally showed the ability to look for specific translations of the Strong's number in a specific Bible translation. The BWS separates these for us and allows us to change the Bible version we are using.) But you could easily in the Search tool just look for all occurrences by leaving off the 'ANDEQUALS daylight'.EDIT: you can find a lot of info on using Search in this wiki page: Detailed Search Help
