Ok, I figure I would be the first to start this string and hopefully it will get populated as the month(s) goes by.

I would like to have full functionality of my Logos on a Windows 8 affordable tablet for these reasons:

  • I may need a new laptop soon as my Toshiba is occasionally uncooperative lately.
  • I like gadgets.
  • I want to move away from my desk and maybe read in bed and my Kindle
isn't a great idea any longer (I have a paperwhite on order but reading
the reviews may never open the box when it arrives).
  • I am a poor seminarian and so eager to find something that might be
described as "affordable budget tablet", but from what I am reading
Windows Surface may a long time in coming and may not be worth buying
    immediately.
  • ....did I mention I like easily-carried, not hard on the eyes, inexpensive "reader" gadgets and that I hope Logos is set free in full glory on some new mobile hardware soon.

Thoughts, wishes, rants?

So far I use iPad. The reason I am thinking about changing of the platform to Windows 8 tablet (Pro) is simple... I really like Windows 8 on my notebook. I really do. Both functionality and design. Another (and more important) reason is the very thing you speak about: Full functionality of Logos. I like to use Read Aloud feature and many other things in the desktop Logos and I would like to have those features on my iPad and I don't.

Apple philosophy is:  iMac on one hand and then iOS platform with iPad, iPhone and Ipod on the other hand.

Microsoft philosophy is different: Windows 8 desktops and notebooks and Windows 8 Surface Pro in one group - and Windows Phone 8 platform (Nokia etc.) in the other group.

I like the Microsoft's philosophy better. I want my desktop, laptop and tablet on the same page. My phone can be just a reader in the situations I haven't expected to have a time to read but situation changed and I do have time. I have my phone always with me in the pocket. Not always Tablet or notebook.

I can imagine also the following scenario:  Desktop at home, Surface Win 8 Pro or some other tablet with keyboard on the go... and smartphone in the pocket.

    Dreaming? Yes. Possible? Yes.

Just one little thing [:)]. We really need Logos to make a mobile version of Logos for Windows Phone 8 platform, and maybe also a Metro Logos Reader... for just simple reading books or morning devotions.
