Logos 3.0f seems to be importing my L4 resources! Is this possible? smile

I'm seriously behind in reading posts. So if this has come up before, I apologise.

But, I've felt constrained to share:

Don't use L3 much anymore. However, now and again when I do use it, I see "Discovering Resources" active in the lower right corner.

Have been wondering about that, so tonight I thought I would look in "My Library." Decided to search in "My Library" for a work that was NOT likely to be in my Logos 3. I have "Portfolio," so just for a lark I typed in Pannenberg. Can't believe it!

It was there in Logos 3! Sorry about the size of my Cntr-V from "about this resouce from Logos 3 (don't know how to change it), but thought I would share that I rejoice in what seems to be happening.

The only other thing that I can imagine to account for this is that perhaps I had it before as a "locked" resource, and the synchronisation has now unlocked it.

Just wondering if any others of you had a similar experience.

I think you're right. I did a bibliography to count my resources in Logos 3 before and after upgrading to Portfolio. My Logos 3 resource count went up from 1576 to 1844. But since my Logos 4 library shows 2211 resources, I know that many of them did not transfer over.

Most resources on L4 will be usable on L3, but you have to have the resource files on your computer. If you had any locked resources on your L3 and they were included in your upgrade, they'll show up now on your L3. You probably have a lot more too but you would have to download the files from the FTP site although many are available through the Logos site under the individual titles or collections.

So, I guess, somehow Logos 3 is set up to "Discover Resources" in my L4 resource folder. That's great if that's how Logos set it up! But. Since I'm using L4 almost exclusively, I guess it doesn't really matter. Just thought it was interesting.
