Was reading a resource and it crashed. I have no handouts at all. Was online. Files attached.
1638.CRASH 4.6a Beta 5_4.61.0.3330.zip
Is it repeatable (is your install unstable), or did it just happen the once?
Hi Alabama24,
It has happened a couple times since downloading this version, like it has the previous couple versions, so it is repeatable, but not on demand. I'm on Windows 7. It hasn't crashed when offline (same as with the previous versions that crashed when online).

The log shows numerous recoverable sync errors for Handouts when the network was available. It seems Logos is relying on status errors rather than checking whether you have any Handouts. I had the same issue with Sentence Diagrams.
Also see you got CommunityClient errors with their Notes (07:25:09) when it should have known the network was not available (06:36) --> it was declared available after these errors at 07:25:11
Finally got OutOfMemoryException crash when trying to access Handouts!
Tim, this looks like the same issue you reported previously which was supposed to be fixed in Beta 5: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/55456.aspx
I'll reopen the case and add your new logs to it.
Hi Tim,The crash seems to be occurring because there is an extremely large handout in your database that is trying to be synced to the server, that is so large it causes the application to run out of memory. (32 bit applications typically have a 2GB limit). The crash might occur at anytime, but is more likely to occur after the program has been running for a while and more and more memory gets used.If you delete your handout database (WARNING: you will lose any unsynced handouts data) then the problems (sync error, and crash) should go away. The handout database can be located at C:\Users\{yourUserName}\AppData\Local\Logos4\Documents\{x#x#x#x#x#.x##}\Documents\Handout\Handout.dbPlease let me know if this fixes your issue.Regards,Seth
Thank you Tonya and Seth. I closed Logos 4, deleted the Handout.db file (again) and launched the app. It did seem to launch faster (didn't take time to sync first), so it looks promising. I'll let you know how it goes.
That is good to hear. I'm curious if you were a very early Logos 4 beta user? There have been multiple issues that occurred with seemingly very old documents that only seemed to affect early beta users. Most of them had to do with old document formats that are no longer supported, that were long ago deleted from users' machines that somehow were resurrected when we moved to the new sync format. For the most part it has been early beta users who have experienced these issues, while later users have not.Regards,Seth CopelandLogos SW Development

I was in the private beta for L4 and using only beta versions every since. Guess that makes me ripe for old file problems!
FYI, Several hours of use since deleting the DB file late yesterday and no crash yet.
Please let me know if this fixes your issue.
Hi Seath, No new crashes. Deleting the DB worked this time. I consider this issue closed. Thank you for your help.
