Bug or Feature? Article side scrolling homepage (MAC)

I was testing out the "new and improved" homepage scrolling (on Mac) when I noticed that an article actually side scrolled. Notice that I am on the same "page." If I side swipe anywhere on the home page screen, it will turn the page, except in the area where I have put the purple box. In that section, the article moves back and forth but makes no difference to the overall page. I checked out other pages and this was the only one I found like this.

Clicked in the outlined article, and could not scroll to the next window with the scroll wheel of my mouse. Refreshed the Home page and was able to duplicate with a different article. This seems restricted to text boxes in the lower left of the Home screen.

This seems to be an issue with 2-columned articles. I have responded here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/57846/412544.aspx#412544
