GRIPE: Themelios volumes 36.2 to 37.3

I bought the first collection of Themelios which Logos produced which had volumes 1-33. Then Logos produced an add-on which provided volumes 34-36 which I bought. Everything is cool right?

Well, it appears now that Logos has produced a new package which provides volumes 1-37.3, but there is no way for those of us to add the recent volumes without buying the entire collection again. http://www.logos.com/product/27604/themelios-1-37 This is just nuts to me that there is not an upgrade path on Themelios as was first started and is similar to Galaxie journals. (albeit the last Galaxie upgrade was very, very late). Further, I have been keeping an eye out for an update on pre pub and as near as I can tell it was not announced. Why wouldn't you notify existing customers that you are adding additional volumes?

May I suggest that Logos create a regular upgrade strategy to Themelios? I have raised this query with sales as well, but I thought I would put it here in case this becomes lost in the Logos empire. Journals are a very important element to study and are even more valuable when they are up to date.

Please, please, please Logos look at your strategy in general with journals and more specifically an upgrade path for Themelios! [8-|]

I am not sure whether you spotted this, but I wonder if the announcement of an upgrade is simply pending,

I have no inside knowledge whatsoever, but I would expect an upgrade to hit prepublication in the (near?!?) future.

I find myself in exactly the same situation as yourself, but expect that it is an issue of coordination in getting this bundle out (which includes future editions) and the upgrade hitting prepublication.

I wholeheartedly support you assertion that an upgrade path is necessary!

Hopefully they just have not announced the upgrade, as this announcement doesn't help or apply to people who bought the original 33 volumes and then the 2009-2011 upgrade, as this note is not applicable to either of them.

That's good news.

Will Logos consider Donovan's suggestion to notify journal owners when new volumes are available? Journals address timely issues and I look forward to updates as soon as they are available. Currently, we have to remember to frequently visit the Logos website to check if an order can be placed for the next volume. This is busy work and a waste of time. For example, the most recent volume in the theological journals was released (6?) months later than usual, and this resulted in many wasted visits to Logos website, just wanting to place an order.

Please consider auto notification. It will save time and hassle.

This is already done now through Logos 4. On the Home page, if you click on the Settings icon in the lower left hand corner (gear icon), one of the choices to show is "Logos Pre Pubs". If you ensure this is selected, on your Home page you will see a brief notice when PrePubs become available. Any new Journals or Journal updates will be posted through this mechanism, and it is also the cheapest price to pay for those journals when they become available.

If you don't want to do it that way, you can subscribe to prepub notifications that are sent via RSS here. There are many ways to view these at your computer, via RSS readers, browsers, and email. Google it if you are interested.

It is true that you can monitor the prepub notices, but it means that you have to actively keep an eye on it. Logos already does targeted marketing and it would seem to me that it would be wise to send advertisements on journals to people who have purchased them before. The above post is correct, timeliness is really important and I'd love to see their journal strategy grow.
