I've posted this before, but since we have a number of new Logos 5 beta testers, I thought it was a good time to advertise this feature again. (Especially since the previous post is on page 7 of the forums and very unlikely to be read.)
Logos 5 (on Windows only) contains a new optimisation in resource display. It's currently disabled by default, but unless we hear negative feedback, we will be enabling it by default in the next RC. To enable it in RC 1, enter "set new display to yes" in the command box.
Once you run that command every resource you open from then on will use our new optimised display code. (Existing open resource panels will not get the enhancement; you will have to close and reopen them.)
You should see increased performance in: opening a resource, scrolling, paging, opening reading view, and loading a layout.
There is a known issue in Greek text that includes dots below or overlines above Greek characters. (This happens in The Text of the Earliest New Testament Greek Manuscripts.) Other than that, all text should display correctly.
If you notice any errors in resource display, please report them in this thread, ideally with a screenshot and the resource position (copied with "Copy location as URL" from the panel menu).
If the new code is causing issues, you can turn it off at any time with the command "set new display to no".
