New User. Where's my base package?

Hi, I am abrand new user. Finally took the plunge. So, I downloaded the software and it went well, taking me to the login screen. Logged in. Whirling circles for a bit, downloading it said, indexing it said. It was just a basic base package. I then see the home screen with with welcome to logos and various articles. But where are my bibles and resources. For the life of me I cannot see them. Can anyone help.

Wonder what resources appear in your Library ? can filter resource list using type:Bible lang:English

Personally have edited many Bible resource titles to add year prefix, which is helpful for chronological sorting in Text Comparison.

Unfortunately the library section is empty on my installation. The logos symbol did appear on the tool / task bar of my Win7 for a few moments and nothing crashed.

I am using the correct logon address and the base package is showing in my account:

Uninstalled and re-installed Logos. Rebooted and nothing. No downloads pending. It has been 21 hours since I purchased. Oh well. It looks as if I will be learning about patience this weekend. I viewed the help video and it seems that you just login and it all happens automatically.

I am sure Logos is a good product.... just got to get there.

This is rare. Normally, resources not showing up in the Library is caused by one of three things:

Lack of patience. Downloading/indexing is still going on.
Purchase was accidentally done from the wrong account.
Login was accidentally done to the wrong account.

Unfortunately, I'm a Mac only person and don't know much about Windows installation, but it's a long time till Monday, most folks here are working on their sermons, and I can think of at least a couple of things you could try to help diagnose the problem:

Go to http://biblia.com, log in, click on the Library (book) icon and wait for it to populate. Do the Catholic books show up, or just the free ones?
Go to http://www.logos.com/products/search?start=0&sort=pricelo&pageSize=60, "buy" a free book that's not in your Catholic package, wait 10 minutes or so, and then restart Logos. Does that book download, index, and show up in the Library as it should?

Go to http://biblia.com, log in, click on the Library (book) icon and wait for it to populate.

Also suggest sign in to biblia.com with the same account as used in Logos 4. When logged into Biblia.com the resources whose licenses are associated with your Logos account and available for mobile device use appear. Biblia has 47 Bible and 3 resources for free use, which includes Clementine Vulgate, Douay-Rheims Bible, and The Lexham English Bible.

If Catholic Foundations Library is associated with your Logos account, then a Biblia Library search for NABRE OR MacEvilly finds:

The Media only => http://www.logos.com/product/10481/logos-bible-software-4-media-only has resource files on DVD for offline installation using scan command, which copies files that are licensed for your Logos account into your Logos 4 installation.

This order looks appears to be an upgrade to an existing package, not the purchase of a base package (like the "Catholic Foundations Library"). Can you confirm that you actually purchased a base package?

Tried the Biblia.com also. My base package was not there.

Then I don't think there are more than 2 options:

Different accounts (which you say you've double-checked).
The package hasn't unlocked properly.

Seeing that you bought the DVD reminds me that I think I've seen a few other cases where DVD buyers haven't been able to download. Given that the DVD's are only really meant for people without internet access, it's possible DVD packages aren't automatically unlocked, but only processed manually when they ship. Please let us know if that turns out to be the case. It will help us help others in the future.

To reinforce what Paul suggested, in the lower right hand corner of your screen next to the clock, is there a small Logos symbol? If so hover your mouse over it and see if it says "Indexing". If it does, this would probably be your answer. The initial install/indexing can take several hours.

Yep, full package downloadable as far as I can see:

Ensure that you are using the same Windows account in which you installed Logos (Logos requires a new installation for every Windows user login).
Ensure (double check) that you are using the same login for Logos that you used when you purchased the base package.
Navigate to C:\Users\[your Windows user name]\Documents\Logos Log Files (or simply: Documents\Logos Log Files).
- Upload all the files you see there to this thread following the instructions found here: http://wiki.logos.com/Uploading_Logs
- Reason: It's possible that either your installation or your indexing did not complete. The files there may give us insight into what's going on.

Note: the Logos Log Files folder is used by Logos to log installation, indexing, crashes, and (when enabled) diagnostic logging. Even if diagnostic logging is off, you should see a PrerequisitesInstall.log, Logos4Setup.log and a Logos4Indexer.log. You may see other logs (crash and/or error logs) as well, depending on what may have happened.

Okay, well it is 2:03pm in San Diego and something is happening. I now have the icon in the task tray that people were talking about. It is at currently downloading 3.15 GB and is at 4%. I don't know if anyone at Logos has done anything behind the scenes, or a server has replicated or something, but it looks as if I am getting my download.

By the way, what incredibly helpful forum members. I have not known so much response so quickly. Thank you everyone for your help.

I'll let you know if it all works and the download completes correctly.

Glad it's working. I imagine Hunter did something. Didn't you get the e-mail he said he sent you?

Once the downloading is complete you'll probably have several hours of indexing to look forward to, depending on your computer specs. If you're short on RAM I suggest closing down all programs and leaving the computer alone for the duration.

I can only echo Philana's recommendation of the videοs at http://www.logos4training.com/. Τhey will save you loads of time. The Wiki is also good. There's a link at the top of the page.

Thanks again everyone. Quite an amazing afternoon. All of a sudden technology sprang to life. My laptop, desktop, tablet and media player all took to life and synced Logos resources and indexed. I am sure that my wifi router at home suddenly started to heat up. I am sure I could here "Scottie" say in his Scottish accent: "She cannot take it Captain". But here I am surrounded in the loving arms of Logos. Now to make sense of it all. So to the manuals and videos. It is a far more complex program than my OliveTree Bible Reader - but the resources are phenomenal.
