Organize Sermons by Scripture

It would be great to have all the sermons in my library organized by scripture reference. It would also be great to have the ability to search for sermons on a particular passage. I realize you can search for scripture quotations in sermons, but it would be great to have the ability to search only for sermons on a particular passage. Would anyone else be interested in this?

Are you refering to sermons from various resources by other people or your own sermons created as a Personal Book? If its the first one, does creating a Sermon Collection and adding it to your Passage Guide do what your looking for. If its your own sermons (or sermons you've collected from others with permission) you can tag it with Scripture and it will create an index...it should also show up.

This wouldn't return search results based solely on the text the sermon is based on - it would pick up sermons where the passage in question is merely referenced. I believe the OP would like to search for all sermons which find their basis in that particular passage while ignoring those which simply cite it in passing.

If that's not what the OP wants, I want to add it as a suggestion.

Two potential challenges:

This would require Logos to go back and tag every sermon in its database with the primary text of the sermon.
Topical sermons routinely don't have a single text from which they are preached. How would this sermon get tagged?

Dave, you're right. I'm looking to be able to search for sermons on a particular passage, not just scripture quotations of a particular passage in a sermon. I haven't checked Philiana's suggestion yet to see if the sermons in the passage guide are sermons that are particularly on the passage being looked at, but if they aren't it would be an awesome feature to have.

The sermon collection in the passage guide is helpful, but it includes all scripture references in a sermon, rather that only referencing the sermons specifically on the particular passage. It would be great to have the ability to only search for sermons specifically on a given passage.

You could put your sermons into separate note files with the passage being the name of the note file. A <ctrl-O> would take you there.

I would be interested in the context of Logos adding a sermon section to the Passage Guide that showed the sermons/homilies in one library - I've been surprised that they haven't done this since it is an obvious extension.
