Confused

I am confused. I have looked on the forums an found little in reference to my package. I have the Scholar’s Library (JG). I don't have a color to my level. Where do I fit in in comparison to the new packages? I too will probably have to wait for a "crossgrade" should it be available. Will there be gradations of the "crossgrade?" I too would like to have the full functionality of the new software without having to buy new resources. I knew this was coming, just can't afford to upgrade.

Same here... I'm in the same position as John and have no idea really what I'm supposed to do to get the L5 engine? I certainly know I don't want (and can't really afford to) upgrade the Scholar's I now have.

So is it a matter of waiting for the L5 engine to come out?

Also, when we went from L3 to L4 I remember forking over about 70 bucks for a cross-grade option... will that be available to us here as well?

If you're not interested in buying one of the revised base packages (which include new resources), you can wait for Logos to make available the Logos 5 Minimal Crossgrade package. This package will make available to you only those extra resources, databases, etc. you don't currently have (but will need) to make the new functions of Logos 5 work.

Assuming Logos approach this issue in the same way as for Logos 4, there should be only one Crossgrade package - not different levels as you get for the base packages.

Check out this attachment - this is the Minimal Crossgrade pack Logos made available for Logos 4. While the Logos 5 package will be very different, it might give you some idea of what to expect for Logos 5.

At the moment we don't know what the Logos 5 Minimal Crossgrade package will cost, or when it will be available. We only know that it will be available for sale once the "introductory period" for Logos 5 is over (- whatever that means!)

Okay, so that pretty much answers my questions... at last! [:D]

Judging by the sheer amount of talk and confusion on the boards, I must admit I'd recommend that Logos step in quickly (using a blog post perhaps?), apologize for the confusion and issue a full clarifying statement for all users, explaining here's what you do:

- if you don't have Logos at all and wish to purchase L5 -

- if you already Logos and want to upgrade from what you have to the next step-up in L5 -

- if you do have Logos, don't want to upgrade but do want to take advantage of the new engine when it becomes available by buying a crossgrade update -

- if all you want is the new engine, even though you may be limited in it usage without that crossgrade -

Then if all those steps are not yet available, give us some expected times we can expect to be able to do each of the above.

I think that might go far to quiet down the fora and will certainly alleviate confusion and worry, yes? [8-|]

Bronze would be the rough equivalent of Scholar's, but you need to be guided by your Upgrade offers as there is little correlation of resources. To get all L5 features and databases you need Gold, but Silver only misses one database and its features (Bible Sense Lexicon).
