How is the performance of Logos 5?

Logos 4 has never performed well on my machine, which is not a dog. Sadly, I have reverted to using Logos 3 for the majority of my Biblical language studies. Can any body speak to how the Logos 5 engine performs in comparison to Logos 4?
Thanks!

Hi Kevin - and welcome to the forums.
In general people are seeing that L5 is performing better than L4 - particularly in areas such as typing notes.
What sort of things were you experiencing problems with?

It's fast and awesome.. However, I've been getting a lot of crashes.. especially when I have 5+ books open and researching. Hopefully they will fix this soon because it's driving me insane. Just have to make sure to save the layout. Version 4 is more stable for me. Rarely had any crashes.

Developers are actively watching the forums and are eager to tackle issues like these that our customers are having. I couldn't find any other posts from you regarding these issues. I would suggest starting a new thread for issues as you find them with as many details and/or logs as possible.

I had a hard time with L4 and only used L3 but I just upgraded to version 5 and am seeing a good increase in speed. I still have the same OLD computer nothing new. So for me it looks like its gotten a bit faster which is good news.

On my PC Logos 5 is quick and responsive and thus far I've not experienced crashes or lockups. Still loading things on my Mac which is a bit slower. I don't want to try out its speed until everything has finished downloading and updating.

Thanks for the feedback guys! Sounds like L5 could be a possible improvement.

Hi Kevin
Kevin Jenkins said:Alan, thanks for the response. You're right, I haven't posted on this problem yet. This was my first post. Maybe I'll try to post some details and see if the developers can help out. But it's disappointing that this step would even be necessary, since my machine exceeds the required specs.
I think - but am not sure - that Alan was responding to the post from Janice

Graham,
Thanks for your responses. Overall, I've just seen that L4 is just very slow on my system. I do a lot of language study in seminary and so I'll often try to open multiple versions of English Bibles, along with the Greek or Hebrew text. If I have the exegetical guide and/or the information window open, performance just crawls. Most of the time L4 takes 20-30 seconds to refresh the various windows. I do have a lot of my windows linked, and I understand this will slow things down somewhat. But I do many of the same functions in L3, which performs very well.

Hi Kevin
One of the unexplained things in L4 was how some people got good performance and others (with similar speced machines) got poor performance.
My laptop - by today's standards - is relatively low spec but I always got acceptable (not fast) performance but didn't engage in much that was too complex.
Hopefully, L5 will perform better more consistently.

Yes, sorry for the confusion. I typed it too quick and should have hit the quote button. [:(]
