downloading and indexing at same time

I don't know if this was happening in L4- did not notice it- but L5 is trying to download and index at he same time- and it creates a real issue- it did finally let me stop indexing.

Is this a bug or is there a way to prevent them starting and running at the same time?

Is it trying to index what it is downloading, or did you download something, start indexing, and then it started an additional download?

If it is the latter try turning automatic downloads to off in settings. You will still be notified when new downloads are available, but you can decide when they start.

I have never had L4 or L5 set to automatically download updates, so I cannot say if what your describing happened in the past.

Not sure which just noticed that it had a download, was downloading and taking forever- when I checked it was indexing as well. But it should be setup in the software for these two functions not to happen simultaneously, I know its just a matter of a program adjustment.

I don't think it will hurt anything to download and index at the same time, but may over task some systems. I'm not sure mine would do very well trying to download and index at the same time. Maybe Santa will bring me a new computer[G]

As for a change in the software that may be something Logos would consider, I don't know. Maybe you could make that suggestion. I have just found it best, for a number of reasons to  not allow automatic downloads.

This is a bug; the indexing should stop while downloading is in progress, then restart to index all the newly-downloaded books.

    I'll create a bug report.
