Seriously???

I own L4 Porfolio...and much else. So I'm doing a double-take on the offer (joke?) I'm getting from Logos for Portfolio. First, when I click "Compare" on the Logos homepage, it takes me to a page which seems to have Gold as a default. Is that true for everyone? Or is the calculator completely misinformed about my library?

Upon forcing the page to load the L5 Portfolio, I get the following:

My price is spitting distance from full price...almost as if I was starting from scratch. Is something wrong here? I'm thinking there must be, especially since I get the following joke/offer for the Starter package:

Again...I own Portfolio already. Am I seeing things, or does the offer above say I would have to pay almost full price for a STARTER PACKAGE???

Just to make clear, I am logged in.

This is...unreal.

    David,

Just because you have Portfolio now doesn't mean you have to upgrade to L5 Portfolio. Assuming you want all the possible features in L5, you need to upgrade to at least L5 Gold. It is unfortunate that the same names were used for the L5 packages. But the content has been restructured significantly in each of the packages.

See Bob Pritchett's posting in the "General" forum on the availability of "minimal crossgrade" (yet future).

Looks like a series of errors. There was a report on the Gold page issue a while back. Probably something needs to be fixed.

Really sorry to see Logos thinks of you as little better than a 'Starter.' We don't.  [;)]

You could give sales a call and see what they come up with.

David: there's a lot of confusion around packages and naming. You should read this from Bob Pritchett first: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/58259.aspx

In another thread, a customer reported that the upgrade page showed prices that were too high, but corrected itself when he reloaded it by opening it from the Products > Upgrades menu on logos.com.

Please try that first to see if it brings your personalised upgrade price down. Otherwise, we can have the sales and web teams look at your account and see if something is awry with the discount calculator.

I see that you are logged in. I just want to make sure that you're using the same login for the web site that you're using in Logos4. Confirm?

Next, assuming that's not the issue, to go the upgrade page and click "New to you." It should be to the left of the 7 base package icons (Starter...Portfolio).

After the page finishes reconfiguring itself, look down the list of what's new to you, and look for resources you already have. Note, in some cases a series may have one or two new volumes, and it will say it's new, while it is still taking your other resources into consideration. Focus on single volume resources for now and look for resources you know you own that are repeated in the "New to you" section.

Report your findings here. Hopefully, if it's a problem with the web page, or with your licenses (at the Logos server), it can be resolved.

Yes, I understand that Crossgrade is coming. I understand that there are new data sets. I understand that there are new resources in each base package. But...a week ago, L4 Portfolio was $4K+ to buy as a newbie. I OWN L4 PORTFOLIO, and many $K additional. Now I am being offered Portfolio for $4K+, with the only discount appearing to be the standard 15% that everyone is offered. (I seem to be getting no more than 15% off on the Starter package, as well). Is the current L5 Portfolio an ENTIRELY NEW CREATION WITH NO OVERLAP?? Based on my $0 credit offer, I am led to believe it must be...and yet, somehow, I find that extremely hard to believe.

This is my main concern: unless there is some overlooked issue, my Calculator isn't calculating as it should. That is a concern for everyone who is depending on it for a legitimate offer...as opposed to a bad joke offer.

Yes, that does make the difference. Thanks. Odd that Logos doesn't put an Upgrade button on the homepage. I could have used that wasted time and steam for other purposes.

As others have pointed out, something seems not right here. For me, the Platinum upgrade was a 15% discount; and Diamond was 20%. I forget what Portfolio was, but it was > 20%.

Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "$0 credit offer". As has been documented in some detail in other threads in this forum, the pricing accounts for every resource you already own. Unfortunately, the "New to you" display is misleading in that you might infer that a series mentioned there shouldn't be because you already own it. But the series in question have new volumes, or a customer has individual volumes but not he whole series, or a resource is a newer edition. The details displayed aren't sufficient to make that clear. However, as a Platinum owner with 90+ other orders of resources, I haven't found any incorrect information based on what was in "New to you" and what was actually downloaded (I got the Platinum upgrade). So I'm pretty confident in the pricing, at least for me.

As others have recommended, it's probably worth a call to Logos sales.

    Yes, odd, isn't it?

Can still access Upgrades from the Products menu, but it should be on the Home Page.

Like I pointed out in my other thread that got lost in the sea :)http://community.logos.com/forums/t/58388.aspx  They (Logos.com) had a few "mis-steps" with this L5 launch.

    David,

Our pricing engine isn't picking up all your transaction history. I'm sorry for the confusion. I've created a case for our development team and we'll let you know when it's fixed. Please allow a few days.

Again, sorry for the trouble. We greatly appreciate your business.

Jim, actually David was not looking at the upgrade page. This was figured out later. See here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/58410/415771.aspx#415771

David, it looks like you're on the comparison chart page (www.logos.com/comparison), not the upgrade page (www.logos.com/upgrade). They look nearly identical, but one respects ownership and the other doesn't. The comparison page is intended for new users, and the ownership logic doesn't apply to the full package SKUs used on that page (we plan to change that in the future, but can't for now for reasons I can explain if you're curious). The upgrade page is intended for people who own a previous package or contents included in Logos 5 package. It does have awareness of what you own and gives you a custom price. It uses a special set of SKUs with dynamic pricing enabled.

We'll solve this confusion soon with an alert message on the comparison page telling people who qualify for custom pricing to visit the upgrade page.

So, try /upgrade if you happen to be on /comparison.

EDIT: Looks like you already figured this out.
