Logos 5 Installer and Proxy Servers

Hi
Does the Logos 5 installer recognise Windows proxy server settings? When I try to run it on my office computer I get an immediate message that it has been unable to download a file.
There's no reason that the installer cannot read and utilize proxy server settings, so I'm wondering if it does, but uses a port that is blocked?

Strange!
This is now the 2nd article when the answer is listed before the question and shows a time stamp in this case, the answer was posted 15 mins before the question. Is this the result of an edit of the original post maybe?

How long does installation from 4 to 5 take? I upgraded Platinum to Portfolio, and resources were 5445 and now 6100+. The computer ran Friday until early Saturday. When I arrived home yesterday afternoon, applied the new update. Once again the computer has been running all night, and is still on step 2 of 3. Will 5 re-index my files, and can I expect another long delay? I'm a long time user, and I'm not complaining, but I would like to know what to expect?

Hi
Thanks - it helps, to a degree. With Logos 4 I always had to enter my Proxy Settings manually and this option is not available to the installer. I don't think the installer is correctly detecting the proxy but it doesn't give me the option to enter them syself... So I'm stuck...

600+ resources should not take more than 2 hours to index on a recent computer with i5/i7 CPU. Discovery (prior to Step 3) can get complicated for reasons unknown so I would then say about 3hrs to complete.
We really need some logs to know what is happening in your case i.e. logosIndexer.log. You can kill the Indexer in Task Manager, close L5, enable permanent logging, then restart Logos 5 and upload the log after a few hours. I would do this if still on Step 2.
The only reason I would expect all 6100 resources to be indexed is that you had a really old version of L4 and it could then take 20+ hours!

Dave, my desktop is a Dell Inspiron, with, an i3-530 processor, 2.9 Ghz, 8 GB Ram, and an NVIDA GeForce G310 video display card for two monitors. hD is 640 GB 7200 serial ATA. Video card is 512 MB. I am running Win 7. Am I okay with this machine?

It will take longer than an i5/i7 - perhaps 60% longer. But please supply logs if still not progressing past step 2.

Dave, apparently installation is complete, because it's indexing now. I need a faster machine.

I think this is a forum bug when Bellingham time hit the Daylight Savings time shift. The time fell back an hour and thus made it possible for a question to be "after" its answer.

An i5 machine will improve indexing considerably. An i5 with SSD will improve overall performance of L4/L5 and give desktop i7 performance on indexing (from personal experience!).

Logos apparently tweaked the problem I had with installing Net Framework 4.5 on my notebook. This morning I once again attempted an install after 5 or 6 previous failures, and this time I was shocked to see the install worked perfectly.
