One of the most exciting features and main reasons I upgraded was the timeline feature. Maybe I am just over looking it but I don't see it listed under tools or guides so how do you use the timeline?
Thanks,
Brad
Brad, it is under Tools:
What collection did you upgrade to? How long ago did you install L5?
I had the same issue, but had to wait for all the new resources, including the new data sets to download. Once everything was downloaded it's there.
Ok, well it's there now...Maybe I had to wait for the additional resources top download. The only items listed under the tools menu in the middle column for me a few minutes ago were "Bible Facts" & "Program Settings". Now I have "Timeline" & "Bible Sense Lexicon". I guess I need to be more patient [:)]
Thanks for your help.

Right. There is a second, longer download after installation. That's why I wondered how long ago he'd installed the program.
However if someone upgrades to Starter, he/she will not get the Timelines. So the first question.
EDIT: As I was typing the answer came. Glad its working now.
I can display the Timeline from the Tools pulldown, then Bible Reference section.
It is a nice general timeline.
But, how can I add specific historical items that are of interest to my studies?
I did not see any way to add to the "stock" timeline data.
Watch the short video on the timeline
The video is here, hover your mouse over the video screen and you will see a PlayList menu popup. Click on the 3rd from the top (Timeline part 1).
Hi Frank

This is not currently possible and I don't remember seeing anything to say that it will be in the future

Are they going to make additions to the Timeline? I was surprised when I searched over Luther's lifetime and did not find a date for the posting of the 95 Theses.
It's not likely Logos is going to have the 'time' to fully populate everyone's world of 'time'. Sooooo .... please vote (not mine; MJ's):

The ability to make your own and SHARE your own was in Libronix; Bob (the CEO) has early on promised (yes promised would be correct) to re-introduce these into Logos. I would hope that as a simple set of add-ons to the main timeline database, they would integrate as desired by the user.
Peace, David! *smile*
There sho' 'nuff a lot of stuff in the Timeline! Almost overwhelming! Personally I like it; however, it can be a "bit of work" eh???
Luther - 95 Theses! *smile*
Are they going to make additions to the Timeline?
Yes: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/58229/414592.aspx#414592. (Note that the list is from early November. It would presumably be longer now.)
Thanks, Milford. It had not occurred to me that the individual entries in the timeline were active buttons.
Hi there... how long did you guys have to wait? I've tried refreshing, downloading, syncing and waiting.
[:S]
Peace to you, Quintin! *smile* Welcome to the Logos Community Forums where people from the far corners of this world attempt to help and support and encourage and inform one another regarding Logos Bible Software -- 24 hours a day -- 7 days a week!
I notice this is your first post! However, I'm having a bit of difficulty understanding it???
The best I can do right now is to assume that you have ordered Logos Bible Software for the first time and are trying to set up your account???
It's a fantastically wonderful program!
If that is so, perhaps you would likely be better off to start a new thread in these forums and explain your situation; since you've attached your post to a very, very old thread on timelines ... particularly on a weekend people might not notice your post ... and ... I'm sure that if I've surmised correctly, you are anxious to go??? *smile*
Quintin - welcome!
What are you "waiting" for? Are you currently using L4 or L5? What base package do you own?
Milford, alabama24,
Your incredibly quick responses are very much appreciated! Yes, you guessed it - rearing to go!
When I logged on to respond to your posts, after being notified via email, I opened Logos and... boom, all there! Looks like patience is my lesson for this week.
(Leading a study tonight and really want to use the timeline feature in prepping for it)
Thanks again for your responses!
