Ready to remove L3?

I think I'm ready to remove L3 from my computer. I'd like some help/advice on two questions:

Any negative consequences to doing this I may not be aware of?

Is there a simple way to remove L3? If memory serves correctly you have to go through a handful of processes to completely remove it.

No, but it's handy if you insist on buying old resource CD's at bargain prices.

No, so keep it around because it only uses the computer when it is running[:)]

It has been such a long time since I have seen one, (can still be found in some stores) and a longer time since I have used one.

A quick call to customer service gets those unlocked in L4...and I assume L5. [:)]
