Will the Base Package DVD's shipped now be exactly the same as those shipped 6 months from now?
Considering 4.0a will probably be out by then, my guess is no, they will have another version of the DVD pressed.
I bet you see a slow down in actual physical DVD pressings. Since 4.0 is primarily an internet interactive application the real benefit of a physical DVD would be faster installs and less bandwidth consumption Any new tweaking can be quickly accomplished with minimal download time after the bulk has been installed from the DVD.
True, but keep in mind the original Mac Alpha is on this pressing. I bet Logos is anxious to get rid of that incarnation.
That slipped by me. [:$] They are probably working overtime on that. Maybe they will decorate the Logos HQ Christmas tree with the Mac Alpha DVDs as ornaments.
I noticed the Pre-Pubs release times keep sliding a few days further down the road. I'm just fine with delaying all the Pre-Pubs if the staff can help in any way to iron out the bugs and get the Mac version running.
