opening up books to the active bible refrence

In Libronix when I had a bible open to a passage I could click on one of my reasources in the toolbar and it would open to that bible passage. In L5 I am not getting the same results. Is there a way to get this to work or do I have to keep changing the refrence when I open the resource?

I can't think of any way to do this in L5 (or L4) - but I have the idea I have seen someone come up with a solution!

The problem is, as far as I can see, that L5 can't know which open Bible it should use as a basis for reference so just opens the resource that you requested.

As you probably know - if you type the reference you want in the commentary it will open up the correct volume.

Or once the resources are open you could combine them in a link set - see http://wiki.logos.com/Linking_Resources for details

I know that a program Steve Clark wrote (QLink I believe) would do this in L4 but he hasn't updated for L5 as yet.

Hopefully someone will come up with some better ideas if there are easy solutions to this

I believe the problem is that there are no serial associations in L4/L5 as there were in Libronix. So your shortcut is set to open the first volume of the series, not the series itself.In this way, the series does not behave like a one volume resource, and just opens the volume your short cut points to.

This can be tiresome, but you can work around it. I see you have the ESV set to a Link set. Select the same link set in the UBS Handbook on Genesis and it will jump to the correct passage. Then I recommend that you unselect the Link set again, so as not to confuse yourself as you read one or the other.

Also if you have your favorite sets prioritized they should show up at the top in the Passage Guide, if you open the resource from the Passage Guide it will open to the passage you are studying.

The Explorer tool will do this for you if you have it open and Linked (i prefer to use letter link or you could use the Follow link). Then in your primary book (e.g. Bible, linked) as you move somewhere where you want to view a commentary or study Bible, then you would see that in the Explorer window under Commentaries.

It will locate the right book in your commentary set.

Couple ideas: could click "+" to open a new tab, then choose resource.

In a Logos 5 panel, can right click on a word, click reference, then click a resource in Top 5 list. Personally have two commentary series prioritized in Top 5 Bibles for right click.
