Technical Question about the Logos 5 Mac update/upgrade

Dear Logos-Team,

just today I upgraded from scholars (LE) to Bronce, downloading my new Logos 5 app.

So, new App copied to /Applications, as I saw it used my books and settings from Logos 4 right away, even the same path: /Users/Username/Library/Application Support/Logos4 .

My questions:

Do I just remove the Logos 4 App or is there some other stuff around Logos 4 installed but 5 does not need anymore?
Will Logos 5 use the Library Logos4-folder for its books too, or is there some other place specific for Logos5 i.e. books in two places?

as far as I know, the L5 installer will completely overwrite L4, so you don't need to remove any leftovers. Logos 5 uses, as you found, the L4 folder structure. This means the books and files are not in two places, but in one. Basically, from the technical side L5 installs as if it was 4.7 instead of a new pre-digit release.

I did. I also needed to remove the Logos 4 icon from the dock and replace it with L5.

Yes. The L5 download process cannot rename folders in the director path on a Mac. In hindsight, they should not have put the version number in the folder name, but now they are stuck with it—for now at least.

In the Mac OS, you drag the L5 application icon from the disk image into your Application folder. While this action will install the L5 engine, it does not remove the L4 engine. Hence, L4 should be removed. You will also need to replace the icon in the dock.
