BUG: Textual Search of BWS content

1. Open 3 BWS's - one each for Hebrew, Greek and English words.

2. Expand the Textual Search section for each of them.

3. Open HELP | Bible Word Study | Default Sections | Textual Search

According to Help, this section searches "across the library":

in the case of Hebrew, the library is nothing
in the case of English, the library is my top priority Bibles
in the base of Greek, the library is my Greek texts

I can justify the difference between the English and the Greek. I can't justify the Hebrew. I'm uncertain regarding Help - it seems to me something like "relevant library" or some other phrase indicating that library is variable is more appropriate.

Technically the help is right. It does search the whole library. It's just that most resources don't have lemma/morphological tagging. For Hebrew I get the Hebrew Bible and the Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls. Apart from the Semitic Inscriptions, which I don't own, I don't think there are any other resources that have Hebrew lemma tagging, are there?

You are likely right ... I'll double check that I never get Hebrew (as opposed to my choosing the wrong word to test).

I know how to find the indexing and search fields for a resource. How do I find the tagging?

You can't do it on a resource-by-resource basis, but you can search your whole library for any lemma (e.g. <af-morph+he ~ ?>), although you'll have to repeat the search using other morphologies. As that takes a long time, you could speed it up substantially by just searching, for example, for masculine singular nouns. (The chances of a resource having morph tagging, but not including any masculine singular nouns is almost nil.) The easiest way to construct a search is to create a morph search, but then switch to basic search before you execute the search. Using basic search allows you to use the By Title view, which you don't get in Morph search.

Hey MJ I tried to reproduce the issue but I can't run a BWS on an inflected form — when I type in the box it shows up with lemmas to choose from, and even if I copy and paste the inflected form into the box it won't actually let me run it...

I wonder if it's a bug that it's letting you do it, as it seems like it's designed to run on lemmas? (if I run the guide on the lemma מלכ the textual search works fine).

I'm running L5.0a beta 1 on Mac 10.8.2

That's a good possibility Jon - and might explain some other oddities.
