Logos 5 (Mac) installed, but Logos 4 is still there? (In the apps folder)

Hi,

Just a question about Logos 4 still remaining in the apps folder. I haven't launched it since/as I installed version 5 (Silver upgrade - very pleased with it! (I'm on a Mac at home).

I read Logos 5 installs itself over version 4, so I'm puzzled as Logos 4 is still in Mac's apps folder. It's not that of a big deal, but I'd like to know whether I can delete Logos 4 safely or not. After all, it seems to be taking hard drive space (the part in the apps folder anyway.)

Thanks in advance!

In Christ

In my case, Logos 4 no longer worked when i clicked on it so I just dragged it to the trash, no obvious problems.

In order to install L5 on a Mac you drag the Logos icon into the Applications folder (for the benefit of those reading this who have not installed L5). Since the version number is contained in the application name, it is slightly different from the name of your L4 installation. Therefore, the icon is left for an application that no longer functions.

Simply drag the L4 icon to the trash, but it does not take up much hard disk space. If you have kept L4 on the dock, you will also need to replace that icon.

I did the same, trashing L4.

It will be nice if L5 installer, trash L4 as part of the post installation task. I must admit at the moment when I hit the button to trash L4, I did have some anxiety :-(

Things can be retrieved from the trash can right up to the time you empty it.

Logos does not use an installer for the Mac version. Rather, you simply drag the application to the Applications Folder. Windows requires that you first download the installer then run it to install L5. In this case, having to delete the old L4 application icon is a price we Mac users pay for the simplicity of installation. If Logos had not included the version number in the application name, the new L5 would have removed/overwritten L4.
