I'm trying to do a search for the expression "slow to anger", as used in Ex 34:6, using Anderson-Forbes in Logos 4.
Can someone please explain how such a query has to be build, or give an example of such a query?
Simon,
what is your aim? Are you just asking where does this phrase occur in the OT?
I did a search in the ESV for the phrase and found 14 results for that phrase.
Are you looking for the hebrew words that make up the phrase?
Can you be more specific about what you're actually looking for?
I want to see how this expression is used in the Hebrew Bible, in order to better determine its meaning.
Also, don't forget; you can do a bible word study on the Hebrew word for anger and get it's context....the same as if you did a complicated search
Thanks! Such kind of suggestions are very helpfull learning to use Logos 4 the best way!
Hi Simon, obviously I've no idea what your background in hebrew is; but this particular phrase would be worth consulting the grammars over... If you have a look at the reverse interlinear...
You'll notice that the English is in italics, this tells you that it is translating an idiom, the Hebrew words literally mean "long nosed". An equivalent idiomatic translation in English would be "having a long fuse" or something like that...
Jon,
thanks for the insight...good to know....
