The new search engine

When I type in John Mark in the search engine, it gives me material not remotely related to the writer of the Gospel of Mark. I guess there are still some bugs.

Are you doing a Basic, Bible, or Clause Search? If you do an entire library search for John Mark it should give you a Topic section with articles relating to John Mark.
Prov. 15:23

Hi John,
Did you type John Mark in the basic search on your entire library without ""? If so you are searching anywhere there either the word John or Mark.
A few suggestions:
Try "John Mark" in quotes in the search box and see if the results are better.
If you are searching the biblical text, then perhaps you may want to open the clause search and type person:Mark.
Last suggestion is to open Biblical Facts and type in Mark.
I hope I did not misunderstand your issue and that these suggestions help.
