will I downgrade any functionality by crossgrading?

was expecting crossgrade price to be higher so wonder what functionality I will be missing, given old addage, if offer seems too good to be true it likely is..

I currently have Logos4 (Scholar's Platinum (JG))

What level will I be at when I crossgrade?
Will I still have all functionality I had in Logos4, ie PB creation?

You won't miss out on any L5 functionality; that is the point of the cross-grade.

You will be at L4 Platinum, because that's what base package you have. If you don't buy a new base package, you don't get a new title or "level."

No L4 functionality has been removed from L5. L5 is effectively a superior L4; there are only added goodies.

You won't lose any functionality. The Minimal Crossgrade provides:

Book resources = some extra titles necessary for databases
Databases & Features = Everything

Go to https://www.logos.com/upgrade while you are logged in and you will see specific info to you. The 'Minimal Crossgrade' is the first option.

For the cross grade, going to Logos 5 from Logos 4 it is not really about which new level you will be at with respect to Logos 4 level. The new Logos 5 levels can be considered separately to the old Logos 4 levels.

Bottom line — to go to Logos 5 with ALL the new goodies provided via the new databases while keeping ALL your previous book resources you can choose 'Minimal Crossgrade'.

IF you want to get new books (if one of the new collections looks attractive) you can 'upgrade' to one of the new collections (price will be specific to what book resources you already have) AND THEN buy the Minimal Crossgrade which will then be much less.

Example: for me the Minimal Crossgrade from Logos 4 was around € 150.00, I upgraded to Logos 5 Silver then the crossgrade went down to € 4.80.

The Minimal Crossgrade is a good deal. Get Logos 5 plus ALL of the new functionality that new users would have to purchase up to minimum Gold to get.

Just to clarify this point - you will actually be at L5 Crossgrade level which currently means you get a lower discount** if you then decide to Upgrade to an L5 package. Financially you would be advised to get a package before the Crossgrade, as already mentioned; though I'm not sure what level you would then have.

** this is being reviewed, and L5 Crossgrade might still attract the same discount as an L4 Upgrade.
