This would be a great feature. So one can load in all their powerpoints for sermons and have the slide content and notes section index.

You can use PowerPoint to drive your sermon or classrooom presentation and hyperlink from PowerPoint to Logos. See the video for how to do it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZMW1Mw3ZgI

Is there a way yet to store powerpoints in Logos 4 or is it just that you still have to link using a hyperlink. As it would be very usful to bring up your own power points in the powerpoint sermons part of the search results, the same would be required for audio sermons that we might have on our drives. Also i guess we are waiting till November time to be able to store and track sermons.

Garry,
I guess its a style or way-of-working thing. To me, it seems that having a Power Point link to resources in Logos4 makes senses. Its less clear to me why I would put the Power Point INSIDE Logos4.
I'm wondering if you are able to make a stronger case for the way you see something like this working, and it might help others line up and offer support and ask for it also. Just an idea, in case its helpful ...

HI,
Rather than just the benefit that the powerpoint would be backed up and accessible anywhere if it was in logos. The other point would be that when a search/passage guide was used, then a new section would appear under your own resources titled my powerpopints, or my audio with any relevant material that you have created. As at the moment its just your notes that would come up
If they were not stored in logos but in a folder on the hard drive then, i (and i would like to think lots of others) would still benefit from seeing the files appear in your passage search. As you may have material related to another sermon that could be used in your current one.
Thanks

I guess for me...(and i'm not a pastor) I think this is a solution without a problem....that's just my opinion...
But...have you considered that if you kept a "table of contents" of your powerpoints in your favorites...then that would at least make the subject searchable?

My guess is that when we get Personal Book Builder back, that we will be able to export our Power-Points in a format that can be included in a PBB book. If so then we can search our presentations.
I see value in this for research, but would not use it for live presentations.
When using Power-Point in front of a group you have to decide where you want the audience to focus. Do you want the group to focus on the Power-Point and have the presenter possibly make ad hoc comments about it? Or do you want the audience to focus on the presenter who uses the Power-Point, and its links to Logos, for reference and illustrative purposes? I have found that when I try to switch between these modes I loose the audience for a while. It takes them time to switch between them.
If you do switch from presenter to Power-Point focus, who need to prepare the audience by explaining what they are about to see and why you want them to see it. When you switch back to the presenter focus you have to "debrief" what they just saw, and explain again how it fit. I have found a very few rare souls who do not need these transitions, but the overwhelming majority do.
For sermons I feel that the presenter should be the focus, not the technical stuff on the screen. Sermon are from soul to soul, not from technology to soul. I do like have the the Scripture passages displayed. They show the authority from which I call for personal life change. It also has everyone reading the same translation. This prevents confusion and distraction. It also prevents interruptions like "But MY Bible says ...!" At this point the interrupter often reads something from a footnote or commentary, and your sermon just got derailed.
Inductive group Bible study is one thing, but sermons are another.
