Both users were on 5.0a Beta 2 and crashed due to this Popular Highlights Visual Filter that was introduced somewhere in this beta.
What is its purpose?

The Popular Highlights Visual Filter underlines areas of text that have been highlighted by enough users to make them "popular."
I hope the default is OFF, because it will cause more problems by its very nature!
