Presently the coordinates to images are linked to Google Map. Why not give the user the option to open in Google earth?
It would be interesting to move down to street level and view sites from different angles.
I guess my answer would be "simplicity". Everybody with a browser has Google Maps, and i believe you can copy the coordinates into Google Earth if you wish.
