Hi,

I'm new here and to the L4 software.  I would like to ask how to hotlink/hyperlink words from Word document to Catechism of the Catholic Church resource book?

Example: (contents from PB)

blahh... blahh..  blahhh... CCC 35

What I want is when I click the "CCC 35",  the resource book Catechism of the Catholic Church will open straight to paragraph 35.

Thanks in advance

I swear I answered this: logosres:catcathchrch;ref=CCC.CCC_189  is the link for 189 .... just change the number

Any reason to do this and not use the datatype, which should be more multilingual friendly? The syntax SHOULD be [[ccc 189 >> CCC:CCC 189]]

you'll need to install the free MS Office upgrade that allows you to write docx format from Word.

    hi Mick,

You just type it into the document.  Take a look attached file - both in MS Word and after compiling.  The stuff before the >> is what will be displayed.  The stuff after is the reference that Logos will turn into a link...

    thanks Kenneth,

it's so simple as just to type in.  what i did before is clicking the icon "hyperlink" that leads to nowhere.  anyway it works.  again thanks for everybody who responded.

    God bless you all.

MJ's link (which is called a resource link) will take you straight to the English translation, no matter what.

Kenneth's link (which is called a reference link) will go to your highest prioritized CCC. This is much better, especially if you intend to share the file, as the reader can then choose for himself whether he wants a click to take him to the English or the Latin version (or whatever other languages we may get in the future).

It is almost always better to use reference links whenever possible. The exception is if your PB is discussing a particular phrase that can only be found in one particular Bible translation, or something of that nature. Then it may be better that the link goes specifically to that translation.
