I currently own the Portfolio package. On November 6th I checked the cost of upgrading to L5. It was $1,994.06. This would involve the purchase of over 1,100 new volumes and databases. When I checked on the upgrade price today it was over $2,000. I called and asked why the discount was changed I was told that some of the Logos members complained that some users were getting too much of a discount so they changed the discount. I find this very interesting. I hope that what I am hearing is true and not just a bait and switch answer. It is kind of like when passengers in economy class seating complain because airlines allow first class passengers to board first. The first class passenger, through paying four times more than the economy passenger, subsidizes the price of the economy seating. I guess it is kind of like the Occupy movement, only it has taken root in the church's ranks. I am not a wealthy pastor in a mega church. My family lives below the poverty line. We scrimp and save to buy Logos materials for me to use in teaching in developing countries. But when I hear about folks complaining about the discounts other get, it smacks of a great deal of envy and jealousy. No matter what discount you get from Logos, it will not cure the foothold that jealousy has gotten in some of the Logos users hearts.
