Black Friday like-a-thon not based on number of likes

How I ask does D.L Moody's works with 15 likes get a discount when the Evangelical Exegetical Commentary with 980 likes just get ignored? Evidently the deals were never based on customer likes but on whatever they wanted to put on sale. Next time just don't lie to us in telling us it is based on what we want. Just tell us upfront you will be discounting what you feel like discounting.

They were counting new likes. Do you know how many likes EEC had before the contest was announced?

Even still I guarantee that the EEC got way more likes than 15, the total number of likes Moody has. Also the Word Biblical commentary and the $129 Expositor's got way more likes than Moody.

I never expected the EEC to even be in play since it is a pre-order set only and Logos has decided against selling individual volumes until the pre-orders are all filled. As for the other complaints, I have no insights since I did not participate.

That makes sense if Pre-pubs are excluded but nevertheless Moody got almost no likes when many resources got many more. I'm not beating up on D.L Moody it just is frustrating when they say the sales would be based on likes. Oden didn't get many likes either. Logos has every right to discount whatever they want but don't hype it up and say it is based on likes when it clearly is not.

The original post did say
Logos Blog said:Base packages, Pre-Pub products, and Community Pricing resources will not be included in this sale. Discounts will vary based on publisher agreements.

As I read the page, they discounted the top twelve liked products, and then added some additional bonus items, even though they hadn't been liked. That seems perfectly reasonable to me. Ironically, you would have been happier if they hadn't added bonus items, and just discounted the twelve. I would have thought we should be all glad that some additional products were also put on sale.

Agreed. But when did they add

Don't remember seeing that before. What I do remember seeing is
Logos Blog said:If we have 3,000 Likes, then the discount will be 20%. If we reach 4,500 Likes, the discount will total 30%, and so on all the way up to 50%!
But out of the twelve, only two are at 50% (so we must have reached 7,500 likes); the rest are considerably less. And two are Public Domain, so they can't possibly blame the publishers for them. And one of the 50% ones has fewer likes than the AYB, which isn't included at all. [^o)]

It seems that they haven't posted the entire Black Friday list yet guys, so don't jump too fast to accuse. The way I read the blog, it says the full list will be published by 12/3.
I'm hoping the Nelson Ref bundle or WBC will be discounted. They had to be on the most liked lists...

Hi Nick
The way I read the blog entry, the deals are valid until the third of December, not that more dals will continue to be added until then.

I don't think I've ever seen Logos discount those as much as third parties do. I feel sorry every time I see someone pay $599 and think they've done a great deal, when I know they could easily have bought the same thing for $389-499.

So was I and no doubt many others. If I recall correctly, the plug on the blog for the Black Friday like-a-thon had a picture of the Nelson Reference Bundle (to be fair, Logos never promised a sale on this set).
How about a Christmas sale on this set, Logos?

That's what I thought too when I read his post, but then I did a little research and found this:
Logos blog said:We’ll be starting the Black Friday discounts November 21 to give you a few more days to save. If you want to hear when your special deals are released, sign up for the Black Friday email list today. Not only will the deals be sent directly to your inbox—you’ll also receive an exclusive post–Black Friday special.
I still think the deals will end by December 3, but it seems there will be at least one more offer sent out by e-mail next week, and the post could be read as to indicate that there will be more offers through the webpage as well. I don't think it's meant to indicate that, but I can understand why someone might interpret it that way. All these Like-a-thon posts seem rather ambiguous to me.
