Logos 5 Backup / Clean Install

Although they have been other discussions touching on this, I thought it would be good to start a "clean" thread (clean of all the side questions and concerns) and see if we can outline:

1. Whether there is any difference in the backup and reinstall procedure for Logos 5 (as compared to Logos 4).
2. Whether one can get rid of Logos 4 leftover files/folders without losing resources or the index in Logos 5.

Simply put, for those of us who upgraded on top of Logos 5, how to ensure we clean out what is no longer needed and only keep a clean installation of Logos 5 without hopefully having to download resources and index all over again.

As far as the Mac is concerned - L5 will install a new engine in applications.

L5 is still reliant on all the resources and indexes that you have in the 'Logos4' folder in your users Application Support files (Logos made a miscalculation when they put the '4' in the folder name).

Once you have installed the L5 application you can safely dump the existing L4 application in the trash. You must not interfere with the Logos4 folder in your users Application Support folder for the reasons given above.

I don't think there are going to be any other extraneous material left about.

All new versions of L5 will simply overwrite the copy in Applications
