Library window size - too small and resizing not persistent

I have noticed that the Library window size in Logos 5 still opens up to a very small size — would be fine if screen was VGA but I am running 2560x1440. I also note now in Logos 5 that even if I resize the Library window (each time I run the application) it does not retain those dimensions even in the same session (unlike Logos 4). I have to make it bigger every single time I open it.

The first screenshot (they both have been reduced in size to make image upload file size smaller) shows the proportions I see when opening the Library window. Given that it is an overlapping window which one will dismiss once the book is selected I don't mind if the window is takes more screen space, I'd like to see more columns. The second screenshot shows the proportions of how I resize the window.

Question:

Is it possible to make the window size (like the main Logos 5 window) persistent across sessions once it is resized. Obviously would not be hard to do.
Could the top, left window coordinate be so the library window sits (on the Mac) so it is just under the menu bar - having it come up sort of in the middle of the screen is not optimal.

Instead of clicking on library icon, I choose to right click and open in a floating window. You might try that.

It would be good to have the library window always open to a floating window by default; the way it works now is never convenient.

It would also be good to have the title expand in the pop-up when you hover over them the way that the series titles do.

It would also be good to have the floating window (as far as possible) open to the a width that displays all the columns we have chosen to display.

OK — I have figured out more what is going on.

There are a number of ways of invoking the library 'screen' (assuming on a Mac)

Click on the Library icon on toolbar
Press [Command] [L]
Choose from menu — Go | Library
Right click on the Library icon and choose:
1. Open
2. Open In A New Tab
3. Open In A Floating Window

The behaviour I see is that only choice 1 opens the Library in a pane under the menu bar. Choice 4.2 opens the library in a new tab. All other choices open the Library in a floating window. Because I am a keyboard sort of guy (and I saw it in the menu) I have been using [Command][L] but that, as stated, does not 'open' the library pane but opens a floating window.

Option 1 remembers the pane size across one session of Logos but is not persistent across sessions. All other options (except 4.2 obviously) do not keep the window size persistent across either the same session or different sessions.

In my opinion:

[Command][L] should open the pane not floating window OR this key command should be configurable to choose one or the other.
The pane size chosen by user should be persistent across current session and new sessions
The floating window size chosen by user should be persistent across current session and new sessions

That 4.1 and 4.3 do the same thing.
That the right-click menu says Open but the command box wants Show.
That there seems to be no way to create a shortcut to Show Library in a new tab.

I don't know how it is on the Mac, but on Windows Logos does remember my column widths and order. It's just that it doesn't remember the size of the Library window. However once I maximize it again, all the columns are back to the way I like them.

EDIT: That is with the floating window version of the Library, not the drop-down menu version, which I can't stand anyway and don't see why anyone would ever want to use.

For me, Ctrl+L should do as it does at present with respect to opening a floating window, or have that option. However, I agree with points 2 and 3, which would be great.

But overall it is a minor issue to me to have to maximise the library after Ctrl+L, although it would be nice not to have to do so.

Forgot about that, I use 4 screens on my Mac, might be quite common for people. Would be nice in a way, wouldn't need to close it down. Obviously this is only valid for floating window. I guess it can be linked into keeping window size persistent, opening it on previous screen. Some people might get confused at that.

Guess we also have to wait for some response from Logos staff.

The only way I know is to have Library as part of a layout (floating or in a tab of the main window) as display options are retained as well as size. There is less consistency in opening Library from the menu.

Seems it's not on any priority list. The main thing I would like to see is the window size (layout) being remembered between sessions. Surely that couldn't be too hard.

There are many features, tweaks and bug fixes that have been in the queue for more than two years ... I would be surprised if this were the highest priority. Have you checked uservoice to see where, if at all, the users have prioritized it?

That's all true. But they just made a number of significant changes to Library functionality, including remembering the last sort order. I suggested at the time that it also ought to include remembering the size and location when it's been opened in a floating window (the only way I ever open the Library). Not sure what would have been so difficult about that that they didn't do it with those other significant changes.
