Okay...Preaching the Word Commentaries, also in upper-end packages, says it has 26 volumes.

That is also what the product page says it has...26...

...but the item listing on the same product page...

...shows (count 'em) 24 titles, which includes 2 Luke titles (accounted for). My library shows these same 24 titles...

So where are these mysterious invisible volumes?? Hmm

Well, let's take a look. 26 VOLUMES, 24 TITLES or resources. Mark and Hebrews are two VOLUMES, but each is one RESOURCE. Open up Mark andf Hebrews you will see both volumes. So you have 26 volumes.

Ah, correct you are. I suppose the listing of Luke twice caused/allowed me to overlook the parenthetical mention of the other two. Thanks for pointing that out.

Does get a little confusing at times: The number of volumes is the number of seperate volumes in the print edition.

Given the advances in computing it is now practical to have larger electronic files than individual volumes and there are many cases where Logos have merged several print volumes into a single electronic resource.

On occasion it gets even more complicated when there are translations of multi volume works and the printers of the translation did not use the same number of volumes as the original.... commentaries sold as sets often "grouped" commentaries on the smaller books, so subsequent printings of a set may have different numbers of volumes... and numerous other reasons such as seperate "volumes" for indices etc....

Just came from another thread where it seems we have two seperate Logos resources encompassing different printings of the same resource (compiled into different Collections): so it seems the world of electronic editions can get just as complex as the world of print editions.....
