Logos Competitions

I have been a Logos user for many years. Over that time I have seen many really great giveaways and competitions come and go. But, it continually frustrates me that these are only open to residents of USA. As long term UK Logos user, it would be good if there were some way we could join in with these great opportunities.

Hi Karl

I know what you mean - as a fellow UK user - but when this has been raised in the past the issue seems to be that Logos couldn't sensibly know how to engage with the different rules in each countries for promoting these competitions. See http://community.logos.com/forums/t/41323.aspx for one of the threads which discusses this.

In my opinion, the best we can hope for is:

Greater clarity that these competitions are only available to residents of the USA - on the front page as opposed to in the terms and conditions
Mailings regarding them not being sent to people outside of the USA

I think that for some time now the rules are changed to allow non-US residents to participate If I recall correct, I tried two competitions myself (no luck, though). Thus I would recommend to read the fine print again, maybe you can take part in such a competition

The most recent competition I can find is one offering the change to win Logos 5 and a Windows Surface Tablet - http://blog.logos.com/2012/11/win-logos-5-and-a-windows-surface-tablet/

The first entry in "Official Rules" says:

1. ELIGIBILITY: Logos Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia over the age of 18 with access to the Internet at all times during the Sweepstakes and subsequent prize-award period unless otherwise specified by Logos. Non-US residents over the age of 18 may enter unless expressly prohibited by local regulations and law. All employees of Logos. (“Sponsor”), all associated agencies and each of their sales representatives, distributors, or agents (all of the foregoing, together with Sponsor, collectively referred to as “Sweepstakes Entities”), and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses) and those living in the same household of each (whether related or not), are ineligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Entry in the Sweepstakes constitutes your full and unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

So one needs to be a resident over the age of 18 or a "non-US resident over the age of 18 may enter unless expressly prohibited by local regulations and law"

My gripe (in a manner of speaking...I'm actually not that put out) is that most of the contests they have now are Facebook or Twitter oriented. I closed my rarely used Facebook account when I started getting notifications about what my "friends" were viewing online. I find that staggering intrusion into individuals' privacy to be a perfect "nail in the coffin" where I'm concerned. I will never open a Facebook account again. Same goes for Twitter..."sound bite" mentaltiy for the masses. Blech.
