Windows basic instead of Aero?

In my system (Windows 7) the Logos window acts like it is basic mode, but every other window is the Aero format, do I have a setting wrong or is this the way it should be. I have checked the compatibility tabs and they are all set correctly. I would appreciate anyone's input. Thanks.

A Logos Tech can give reasons, but transparency is enabled on floating windows but not the main window.
