He's known as the "Barthian before Barth," though of course their thought diverged at a number of points. Forsyth was highly influential on the neo-orthodox movement, and his theology of the cross is still quite unique. Invaluable for those interested in the atonement and its history of interpretation, especially IMHO The Cruciality of the Cross and The Work of Christ.

Forsyth is very quotable...I noticed his name one day standing out in many things I was reading at the time, so purchased some old books in a cheap e-bay bid...definately one of Britains theological shining lights in recent history.
